Mimosas, wine, shopping: Repeat. That pretty much sums up my weekend.
The January western market is my favorite time of year. It’s 3-4 days of intense shopping, lots of hugs (followed by an offer of drinks and food), dinner out, making new friends, falling in love with nearly everything I see, and a broken promise to NOT spend too much money again this year (impossible).
There is so much to look at that I get a brain freeze every few hours (but there is always someone offering a libation to relax the mind – and wallet). There are also loads of parties to go to but a nice dinner and great conversation with good friends is WAY better so I leave the parties for the rest of the crowd.
This year I brought a friend and we had a blast picking everything we thought we be great for the store. Now it’s time for the hard part – pairing it down to reality. I’ve had to shop for merchandise for the whole year..meaning I was mainly looking at apparel that will arrive in the store July through December. How in the world do I decide what my customers will want for the next 11 months?? I certainly haven’t figured it out but I take my best guess and tweak it along the way.
Here is a peek at some of my shopping this weekend. Let me know what you think!!
There is so much more that there is not possible way to show you everything. These are just a few images I had available but I can’t wait to get these items in to the store and see what our customers think about what we found. It’s hard to guess what everyone would want but I’ve learned that my best-selling items (with very few exceptions) are those items that I personally love! I’m more excited than I’ve ever been for a year so here’s to praying it’s a prosperous 2015!
